I scored 620, 680, and 650 on critical reading, math, and writing respectively. I am considering applying to the university of North Carolina whose 25-75% scores are 590-700 in CR, 620-710 in Math, and 580-680 in writing. My dilemma is that I cannot decide whether this would be considered a reach or match for me because my scores are both towards the high and low ends. Plese help!

My guess would be match. You’d be around the 50th percentile, so I guess it could go either way?

For unc it all depends on if you’re instate or out. If you’re out of state I would say your sat’s are a bit too low.

It’s a reach. You have to keep in mind that a large percent of the class has a hook- at UNC for example, athletes can get in with much lower scores and there’s lots of them. So unless you’re scores are solidly above the 75th percentile, it’s a reach.
