Match-Safe?

Hello, I’m applying to the college of letters and sciences or w/e it’s called undecided. idk how much of a match this is, if at all

Location: CA

ACT: 27, but math 28 and english 32

AP’s: Span- 5 Eng- 4 US History- 3

GPA: 3.8ish uc

ECs listed on app: football, track, was in 2 clubs, and work. also did summer school

Job/Work Experience: did finances that were really receipts at a family friend’s company and also had a job there too

Essays (subject and responses): pretty darn good.and on two good issues

Teacher Recs: better than great

Counselor Rec: great

School Type: Private, does not rank

Ethnicity: Hispanic

Gender:M

thanks

You've got a pretty decent chance, however your ACT scores could be better...I'd say you're in the match range though.

What is the point of Teacher and Counselor Recs? I was under the impression that they threw these out on sight.

They do ignore recommendations.

Also, the essay is only read to find situations that are given points under the admissions formula, not to evaluate it as an essay. Doesn't matter how wonderful (or awful) it may be.

UCD does not do holistic admissions, instead they have a set of weightings of various point based factors and select strictly by a cutoff against the total score. See my post "Chance Yourself!" from earlier this week on how it works.

Yeah, what rider says. Davis has been ridiculous to get into the last 2 years due to overenrollment. I think with Davis, it's mostly the GPA and SAT/ACT than anything else. Meaning, it's a numbers game. It is an amazing UC, however, and worth just applying and, if you get in, seriously look at it. I have a good friend that goes there, and he loves it, but really struggled last Spring because of something he was involved in. It's a great UC, but no walk in the park.

ok thanks i'll def. do it

so if it's well above 7800, then it's all good?

and does anyone know how to apply this to UCSD?
