Match schools? (academically)

As I begin to wrap up my junior year in a few short months, please help to generate a list of colleges STRICTLY based on academic presence.

Hardest schedule at a very competitive private school
3.7 UW GPA
32 ACT
2050 SAT

I am looking for good matches. I have financial/academic safeties as well as reach schools, but I need help coming up with match schools. Thank you in advance:)

Matches: NYU, GWU, Rochester, Boston College, USC, Umiami, Georgetown, Emory, Michigan, Notre Dame.

I recommend that you don’t submit your SAT, just your ACT.

Well a number of schools could be matches…what are you interested in majoring in and what location is ideal?

University of Alabama financial safety since its really easy to get a full ride there.

muhlenebrg college
rollins college
brandeis university

EDIT: I want to major in either Biology or Biochem, if that makes a differnce

Rhodes College
Trinity U (San Antonio)

My son had similar stats (3.64 UW, 34 ACT, 1480/2100 1st sitting SAT) and the above were schools he applied and was accepted. The difficulty with these stats is that many schools do NOT match - he fell either into low reach or high safety.

We were unaware going into the process how many high schools have grade inflation and how many colleges use unweighted GPA.

You will have the best luck at schools that:
recalc to their own GPA
are very holistic and spend enough time to look at all your courses
use weighted GPA

I don’t think the US News Rankings are the be all/end all, but looking at schools ranked in the 40-80 range is a great start point.

I just went back and looked at some of your older posts – Are you still more interested in a Uni instead of a LAC?

Urban/Suburb instead of Rural?

I saw that you are an URM and a swimmer. Do you want to continue swimming in college?

Do you need financial aid?

With a careful strategy, what may be a low reach for your stats could actually be a match based upon your background and ECs.

@Longhaul, I am looking for universities primarily, urban/suburban community and I do wish to swim in college but am only suited for the D2 or D3 level. I have financial schools in mind, but i need help determining where i fall academically

A 32 ACT is right at the middle for a lot of great schools for biology and biochem - Wash U, Tufts and Hopkins all come to mind. However, I think with they’re sub 20% acceptance rates they’re really “reaches” for pretty much everyone, especially if you have a 3.7 (unclear the context of your high school, of course) but I’d still visit/apply to them all.

Safer “matches” might be Emory, Wake Forest, Southern Cal, Michigan, and Rochester. Good luck!

Add Case Western. Otherwise, I agree with U Rochester, Emory, etc.

Thank you everyone for your replies!

Bump bump bump

Trinity University
Rice
JHU
Vanderbilt
WUSTL
