"Match" Suggestions??

I can’t believe it’s December and I’m asking this…
Anyway, I’m Canadian but applying to schools in the US. My list consists mostly of reaches, but I’ve realised I want to go to school in the US, regardless of a university is super prestigious or not. Can you please make any recommendations?

SAT: 2210 superscore, 2200 highest sitting
Subject Tests: 680 chem, 730 math (retook and waiting for scores, hoping for 750 chem, 780+ math)
GPA: 95 grade 9, 96 grade 10, 91 grade 11
Taking almost all APs offered at my school
Have pretty solid ECs, few leadership positions.

I would prefer to go to school in the northeast, but that’s not absolute. My top choices are University of Pennsylvania, Johns Hopkins, Northwestern, and Harvard, so I’d like to go school that is similar. I would prefer a mid sized university with a liberal arts education. Thanks !!!

What are you hoping to study? What about these 4 schools appealed to you? Would you consider a LAC ( a small liberal arts college with no graduate students)? I assume you are full-pay right?

@N’s Mom I forgot to mention that I want to later study medicine. I am planning on majoring in neuroscience or cognitive science, or maybe biochem. I Although I want to study medicine, I love history (maybe I’ll minor in it or something) so I’d like a school with both strong humanities and science programs. I would also like a school with a lot of research opportunities, like JHU. I don’t think I would want to go to a small LAC. Although I will still apply for financial aid, I don’t think I’ll get any, so I’ll assume I’m full pay. I am also american if that helps. Thank you

@Erin’s Dad Thanks I just did.

University of Rochester is a possibility for you.

Harvard isn’t going to happen. Take a look at Rice and Georgetown. These schools aren’t in the NE (frankly, the weather is much better at both schools) but they are mid-sized schools with lots of interesting opportunities for future pre-meds. A bit preppier than the schools on your list but not overwhelmingly so.

Keep in mind too that at least at US medical schools (and I think Canadian as well), you can major in anything you want to as long as you complete the pre-reqs for med school. 40% of US med students are non-STEM majors. So if history is your love, go for it.

@N’s Mom Thanks for the suggestions. I do really like Rice, but it’s too far from home. I’ll look at Georgetown.
