<p>GPA 3.88 weighted; 3.6 unweighted (School only gives 3 percentage points for aps and 2 for honors)
Class Rank: 6th of 339
my school's pretty competitve for public school</p>

<p>SAT: 730M and 730V</p>

<p>Physics:780, Writing:700, Math 2: 770</p>

<p>APs: Euro 5, Music Theory 5, Physics B 5, English Lang. 5
This year I'm taking English Lit, Physics C, Calc BC, French, and Economics (should all be 5s)
as well as a RIT course in the Principles of Engineering</p>

<p>My school offers way more APs than anyone human could take; I've taken them in every core subject except American History, I took regents instead. My schedule is still one of the most demanding at my school though.</p>

<p>If you like Cornell and Carnegie Mellon you might also want to look at Colgate if you can stand being very rural</p>

<p>I did tour there and loved it, but their program is weak in physics and I don't even think they have engineering.</p>

<p>If you are considering colleges in the New England area, I have to throw in a good word for Dartmouth! :) I am a junior here, and I absolutely adore it. I'm not a science person, but I have a couple of friends who are engineering majors and it's a good program, and small enough for individual attention. Plus we have a very good engineering grad school.</p>

<p>Plus it's pretty much the most fun place on Earth, with the most amazing profs.</p>

<p>In a sense yes, but I think the admissions process at Dartmouth is more personalized, since it's a much smaller school. They weight factors like essays and interviews in a way I get the impression other schools don't. I had two interviews (one on campus, on alumni) and I think they gave me a HUGE leg up. MY SATs were good, but my GPA left a tad to be desired.</p>

<p>Try Lafayette and Lehigh, both in PA. Bucknell might also be a good solid match.</p>

<p>Bucknell's engineering is ranked 8th on the list of schools that offer up to master's. Also look at villanova and tufts. I, too, am applying as a physics major. Top 2 schools I am looking at are princeton and cornell.</p>
