Hi. I would really appreciate any thoughts on what schools anyone thinks I should apply to. I'd like a school that's midsized and urban or suburban (no Dartmouths!) I am a high school senior thinking of applying for regular decision.

Apply to any school. Although nothing pops out for me in your EC's; you have a chance at any school. It seems like you would be a match at a school like Northwestern, but really, visit and apply. Your stats won't keep you out of anywhere except a tech school (math scores are not top decile).

I agree with ^^. Kinda hard for me to give you advice without knowing...

-Geographic residence?
-Do really big schools matter to you? Or does it have to be mid-sized?
-Lower class/middle class/upper class?
-Minority?
-Would you be willing to go far away?
-What's your intended major?

Here are places that I personally would consider applying to if I had your stats...

USC
Cal-Berkeley
UCLA
Florida
Illinois
Michigan
Texas
UNC
Virginia
Miami (FL)
Vanderbilt
Stanford
Emory
Tulane
Duke
Georgetown
Rice

etc.

It all depends on what you like, and what you're interested in. You would be a very solid candidate at basically any US school except for MIT/CalTech, so it's up to you.

I'm not a minority (Although being one would be great!) My parents will not pay for anywhere west of the Mississippi. I will not be applying for need-based financial aid. Thanks for the incredible posts! Is Duke noteworthy for much besides compeditive admission rates, crowded classrooms, and basketball? (I'm seriously asking)

Duke is noteworthy for being an incredible school. I think they're top 7 in the nation.

Does anyone have anything positive to say about NYU? Just wondering....if I were female, I could apply to Barnard. Oh well......

Coluhopeful:

Assuming you are a California resident,
UCB/UCLA: Safe Match

Wondering what people think of chances at these specific schools:
Amherst
Columbia
NYU
Florida
Duke
Georgetown
UPENN
UVA

Thanks!

If people could begin to respond, their thoughts would begin to be appreciated. RESPOND AWAY!

Hello? If the people who see this could respond, it would be fantastic!
