Material science and engineering at UW

<p>Few days back I got an E-mail offering a direct admission to the material science and engineering major in UW.</p>

<p>I just wanted to know what people think about this offering.</p>

<p>When I asked my brother, who is currently at UW, he said that material science and engineering major is not as rigorous as some other engineering majors such as chemical or aerospace engineering. </p>

<p>So is material science and engineering particularly good at UW? or bad?</p>

<p>I am quite interested in that field, so I'm probably going to take the offer if I decide that I will go to UW, but I am just wondering if I should later pick up another engineering major if I think I can do double major or something life that.</p>
