I already might be taking five years so I was wondering whether this is common. I want to be an Aerospace engineer but my school doesn't have the major and after talking to my advisor we decided mechanical wasn't the path I needed to take. I asked what else is closer and MSE seemed to be it.

Do I need to take fluid dynamics even though its not require at all for my major and I need to take an extra class? I'm asking is it possible to get an MS in Aerospace without being in the major or an ME?

If you don’t take it now you would likely have to take it as part of your MS. You may hbe to regardless.

Yes, you can switch to an AeroE masters. Look at an AeroE curriculum to make sure you don’t have to take too many prereqs into the MS program. When you switch majors in a masters, you have to make up the classes you never took.

You’ll probably get to do a little bit of fluids as a MSE person during your transport class, but it probably won’t be anywhere the level you’d get as a ChemE or MechE.
