Materials Processing Question

Hey everyone,

My college counselor told me that in order for a school to start an admissions file from you, they need either a completed common app on file, or have received SAT/ACT scores. Is this true? If I'm planning on submitting the common app closer to the deadline and making use of the December ACT date, do I need to contact the admissions office to make sure they start a file for my teacher recommendations, Secondary school report, etc?

On that note -- is it okay if I use the Dec ACT date for January 1st Applications? I would have to list all the schools as direct score recipients, I assume?

Whatever gets to their office, a file will be started. It’s not as if they shred all docs that come in before your app or scores. What a stupid waste of effort if this wasn’t done? Have your GC think about that.

Can I still use the Dec. ACT date for January admissions? Will it get there before the deadline?

Send in whatever score you have currently. When you take the Dec test, send that in asap either on the free score report or immediately after receving scores. You MUST send in what you have initially in order to replace it with your newer upcomming scores. Those scores will “hold the spot” up.
