Got a low score on the math placement exam and was advised to enroll in Math 014. That is OK with me. But what impact will it have on my ability to be admitted into Kelley? Also, the course description says Match 014 cannot be used toward a degree (in certain schools, including Kelley). Does that mean it is, essentially, a non-credit class, and that at some point I will have to make up for it by taking an extra class?
Same circumstance here. The adviser at orientation said it would count for Kelly but we are unsure too. Perhaps it does not count for our GPA?
- What was the highest level of math you had in high school? How did you do?
- If you had pre-calc and/or trig and did reasonably well, you don’t have to enroll in M014.
- Take the advisors’ advice with a grain of salt. They just tell you what they’re told to tell you.
- If you decide not to enroll in M014, I’d suggest Brief Survey of Calc (M118) for Kelley.
I believe it’s basically to prepare you for upper level math, so it wouldn’t count as your math credit is what they mean.
