I've signed up to take 2 SAT Subject tests in October: Physics and one of the Math tests. I'm not really sure as to which one I should take though. I'm currently a senior in high school taking AP Calculus and AP Stats. I scored an 800 on the math portion of the SAT and a 34 on the math portion of the ACT. I'm applying to Stanford, MIT, and Georgia Tech later on, and I'm wondering which test should I take? I also realize that the Math 2 test has a lot more forgiving grading curve.

You should be ready for either Math I or Math II – a lot of people say Math II is better (which it probably is), but an 800 on Math I is significantly harder to get than an 800 on Math II. I’m pretty sure MIT doesn’t care whether you take Math I or Math II in regards to admissions decisions.

top engineering schools pretty much expect a very high score on MATH II. TAKE MATH II!!!

Take both. The hour of fun is well worth the extra charge.

Math2 requires more Math skills than math1, but the curve is more generous. If you have taken pre-calc and want to study science or engineering, Math2 is the one to go. Taking both is a waste of money.

2 is definitely more impressive, and not much harder
