I signed up for the Nov Math 2 but in looking at the prep book, Math 1 looks much easier. Thoughts on these 2 tests? Math has not been my strong suit on the SAT.

If you’re aiming to impress do Math 2.

Some schools may require you to take Math 2, such as the University of California; so for some of the schools you’re applying to, you don’t have a choice between them.

The material covered on the Math 1 exam is less than that covered on the Math 2 exam, but I’ve heard they can be harder/tricker, and the curve is definitely much more brutal. The Math 2 curve is very lenient.

A lower score on the SAT Math II will look better than a higher score on the Math I.

^This is most likely true, despite the fact that the percentile for the Math II would be lower.

Math IIC’s curve is very lenient (due to the higher level of math covered), so getting a respectable score on that test is a bit easier (750+, or the coveted 800) than Math I.
