What the advantages of taking Math Level 2 over 1? Does taking the 1 look bad?

If you are applying as an engineering major, yes, the Math I looks bad. I got a 790 on the Math II because it is freaking easy if you study Barron's book on it. Take practice tests for both and see which you do better/feel comfortable on. If you think that you won't understand the II in a million years, then take I.

No one takes Math 1 really...Math 2 is where its at. Math2 is only Pre-Calc anyway...it's not hard or anything.

It is Pre-Calc, More Geometry than I, and some Trig.

Make sure you check whether your school accept Math I or not. Some school only accepts Math 2.
