Math 1 vs Math 2

Situation:

Just completed Algebra II Trig (finished junior year)

Should I--

A) Take the Math level 1 SAT this week
B) Study some precalc over summer, wait till October testing and Take Math 2
C) Take Math 1, and in october..take Math 2 (both)

I have read some forums and some people have been saying that colleges look down on Math I, (although i am in a lower math class than most of the ap/honors students). I am not aiming for top Ivy Leagues, but i am still aiming for sub-ivy schools, such as wash u.

So, which option should i choose (a, b, or c)?

Do top colleges (besides the UC system) look down on Math I subject test?

Thanks in Advance!

No one can say for sure that the top colleges look down on the Math I exam. You should only be wary of those colleges that specifically ask for the Math II exam.

If you manage to master precalc, and spend enough time practicing for the exam, Math II is the way to go.

I remember asking a Penn rep once, and she said that Math 1 & 2 are not treated differently for acceptance into Wharton. With that in mind, I would bet most colleges do not look down on Math I.

Look at the questions for each test and do what you’re comfortable with…
