What's the difference here and why are Economics majors recommended to take Math 102?

I'm not too sure, but I heard my math teacher say there are plans down the road to make math 102 a required course for econ majors. Of course, Duke will probably continue to take math 103 credit (if applicable) for econ majors in the near future if that was the case.

I took 102 and it wasn't too bad. My only complaint was that the class was curved to a c+, with a b- being needed for the class to count as a prereq for Econ 105 and above. Our class ended up having around 27 students, so the sample size was small and I felt a bit unfair if you weren't consistantly doing really well. Bray is a good professor. Very helpful. He's really theoretical and proof oriented, although the exams were more practical. I think there is definitely less work in 102 than 103. I had no more than a few hours of work do every week.
