math 103 instead of math 102

I'm confused about the math 102 requirement

Math 102

it says that econ majors should take math 102 even though they've taken math 103.

I have credit for math 103... but I dont' want to take math 102. However, I don't want to double major in engineering.

Could I just say "oh i planned to major in something that requires math 103 but then switched to econ" and then not have to take 102?

I also see on the econ requirements it says math 102 or math 103 or equivalent

Thanks!

I doubt you'd even have to make up a story. They'd probably just accept it, no questions asked. I always just assumed 103 worked for econ since that's what the BS requirements say.

i think 102 and 103 are functionally equivalent for econ majors.
