math 103

I am trying to decide between math 32 and 103 - I did very well in calculus BC but am worried I've probably forgotten a lot and might struggle in 103. On the other hand, everyone seems to say math 32 sucks, so if I could skip it maybe i should. Any suggestions?

im doing 103.. same situation.. just do it.. i'm sure you wont regret it

Like I've posted before, I had a bad Calc BC teacher, but did well in 103 (or at least my HS equivalent). You probably haven't forgotten as much as you think. :)

i'm hoping to get into 103 but if not i think i'd take 41 over 32...the 41 curriculum seems a lot more like the BC calc one and i guess revising everything wouldn't be such a bad idea.

How often is bc material (::cough:: series and sequences) going to come up in 103 and haunt me? I mean, I have absolutely no clue what calc 3 entails and, to be quite honest, i don't feel that confident with a few of the BC concepts. Should I just do 32 or go on and take 103?

Sequences and series never reared their ugly heads in my multivar class. The thing I'd say you should be most comfortable with is integration.

Anyone wanna comment on 103X? I'm taking either 103 or 103X second semester (no math first semester due to FOCUS). Is 103X an impossible class?

I had a similar thread a while ago. Most people seemed to be against Math 103X. I'm taking Math 103 with FOCUS.

yeah the thing is I am pretty strong in math and am really interested by it so I think I might enjoy taking a theoretical version of 103, but I don't want to flunk it cuz if its so hard that the only ppl taking it are math geniuses.

As long as you meet the requirements for 103X (credit for Math 31&32, have a math SAT score between 750 and 800, and be strongly motivated to study abstract mathematics), I think you would be fine. I considered 103X, but decided against a class of geniuses. After all, I only had a 740 Math. :p

lol, anyone know if 103X is offered in Spring, it doesn't seem to be

does anyone have any comments that's actually taken math 103 at duke not at highschool
