Math 124 UW *Need Advice*

I have a bunch of questions. I am going to take Math 124 this winter quarter and would love some advice from anyone who has taken the course in autumn or in past years.
The textbook says
2 P/S V.1 Calculus Single Variable (Custom) (7 E 12) W/ Webassign
Author Stewart
ISBN: 9781133292838
Status: Required.

1) When I buy it online at the UW bookstore through the course number, does that guarantee that I get the textbook and the online access code (all materials necessary).

2) The textbook is Calculus Single Variable Volume 1 7th edition. If any one has taken this course, does the textbook prove to be "necessary". As in, do you think its worth buying the Calculus Single Variable Volume 1 6th edition to save 70-80 bucks, if the material between the two editions is extremely similar.

3) And is the online access code necessary (I am assuming yes, its part of grade)

I appreciate all input, Class starts soon so I am panicking ab it!

One more thing. If I were to buy the “new version”
Whats the difference between
9780538497848
9780538498692

I know one is published 2011, and the other 2010. But these are the new versions. Is there really going to be a difference if there is a two month difference between publication dates?

1) Yes. (Unless used I suppose)

2) I don’t think that math changes a lot, so most likely what is different there is assignments. If your teacher will be using WebAssign for HW, I don’t think there should be a problem. If your teacher will be asking you to turn in HW on paper, then there might be some difference.

3) Depends on the teacher. But since this is UW and classes are big, I would assume that the teacher will assign online HW.
