Hi, I went to transfer orientation and have a few questions about being placed in math 140. I took Math 1205 at Virginia Tech, which is a calculus class and did well. During registration my counselor said that it did not count as credit for Math 140. And I rushed my math placement exam the night before orientation and was placed in Math 220. My counselor suggested I took math 115 and then go into 140. But I do not want to take a Pre Calc class and waste a semester when I did well in calculus already. He said he would contact the math department about me being allowed to take Math 140, however, he has not replied to any of my emails. So what I'm asking is, who would I contact about this issue, other than a counselor. And yes I do plan to retake the placement test, but I want to make sure first. Thank you.

I would call up the math department and speak to them

I thought math 220 was calc I for business majors
