Math 16 or 21 series

I have the option of taking just 21b or 16b&c. Which one do you think will be the better choice since I’ve heard 16 is much easier.

if it's either 21b or 16b&c, I would do 21b, it's just integration stuff. 16c will have some multivar stuff and series

depends on your major and future plans...

i'm a man econ major

If youre managerial economics, you prolly should go with 21.

The justification for this being that I keep reading on these forums that a greater level of math is better for this major.

If you want to go on to grad school/MBA after work/top tier job out of college then you want to take the 21 series. I know for certain that top grad schools programs for econ essentially require a 800 math score to stay competitive with other applicants. I know many econ majors that double/minor in math. Take a look at the grad school subforum if you want more info.

If you are just going to work at a mid/low tier place after college, then take 16 series.

BTW, that's not to say that you won't get into a top-tier job after college if you take the 16 series. I know SEVERAL people who got excellent jobs at consulting firms such as Deloitte, and math wasn't their forte-- they didn't even take the advanced series at their school (Berkeley). So if you don't think you particularly excel in math, take the 16 series and prove yourself in some other area.
