Im goign to be an economics or business or poli sci major >> dunno yet but im probably not going to go premed or engineering in college. So is there any reason for me to take the 1A-B series over the 16A-B series? I took the calc BC exam and I think I got a 4-5 on it but I heard 1B was really hard. But the 1A-B series seem more popular >>;

1) Your handle is HILARIOUS

2) Go with 16 series. 1A/B is only there to screw you over if you don't need them.

what handle? o_o?

"unshunreshun." your handle.

o yeah hehe 8D its from the office

.....i know....

Is the Math 16 series that much less difficult than the Math 1 series? I'm a prospective business major, so the recommended Calculus course is Math 16A/B, but I'm also interested in Computer Science so the Math 1 series is recommended for that. Am I doing the right thing in choosing to take Math 1A?

Math1A is easy. Math1B will own you (for the most part; you might get lucky with a prof).

So Math 1A's not as bad as people say it is?

For the most part, yes. Math1B is the real killer.

Do some people take Math 1A and then 16B? Would that still count as 1 year of math even though it's not the same series?

Math 16A and B are normally 3 units; if you take Math1A and then take 16B, you'll only get 2 units for 16B.
