Math 16B for Med School?

next semester i'm taking math 16b cuz the professor is good.
however, i heard that many med schools don't accept math 16b and i should take math 1b instead.

others have told me that they look at them the same. can i get some clarification here?
i'm mcb and i don't need math 1b because of a 5 in ap calc bc
also, i took math 1a before at cal

thanks!

yup, i always thought that most med schools accepted the 16 series. which ones don’t?

UCLA is mentioned, not because it doesn’t accept 16B, but because it wants statistics plus another math, so that two calc classes don’t meet their minimum. If you took 16A, 16B and a statistics course, you would be golden.

Most will take one semester of calc plus a semester of statistics as fulfilling their requirement for one year of math, extremely few ask for a full year of only calculus.

pretty much all medical schools will accept math 16b
