Im a spring admit in the FPF program looking to enroll in some classes.

Im in AP Calc AB right now and with a 4 I can get out of Math 1A. Does anyone think its a good idea to take 1A in the summer anyway to reinforce my calc because i dont know it so well right now. Or will I be fine in 1B..

DO we enroll in classes after AP results come out? What if i enroll in 1B and not pass the AB test?

There is an FPF chat going on right now where you can get realtime answers. go to your myberkeleyapp events tab and follow the link.

Math 1B was cake for me. There's even a bit of overlap with Calc AB in high school. Don't waste a semester reviewing material.

if i am pretty confident that i will get a 5 (based on practice exams) should I take Calc 1B as a review or should i take the next course?

Usually if you've taken AP Calc AB and you get a 4 I would recommend that you take Math 1A anyway. However, if you're in FPF then I really recommend taking Math 1B in there because it's a lot easier than the Math 1B on-campus. You enroll in classes before AP results come out, but you can always drop and add classes up until a few weeks into the school year. I wouldn't worry about taking math 1A in the summer. Just go to office hours more if you really need extra help; they're very accessible in FPF.

ccbound: are you talking about a 5 on Calc BC and Math 1B?
