Math 1A a must for CS61A?

<p>So I need to take some CS classes for a cog sci major, but I've only taken 16A ( which is the only requirement for the major). I was wondering if I would be able to go onto 61A with just 16A, or if it was necessary to take 1A? Thanks</p>

<p>When I took CS61A, it didn’t use any calculus except in passing. So strictly speaking, you won’t need the knowledge from Math 1A. However mathematical maturity is helpful for CS61A.</p>
