Math 1A or Math 1B?

Anything lower than a C- or NP if you took it P/NP is a deficient grade. I suppose you get to get that deficient grade removed from you GPA without retaking the class.

But 1A then 16B would still work for Haas, yes?

Yes, it would work and I know of people who did/do it after they struggled in 1A.

bump, Derrick Smith or Fred Bourgoin for Math 1B. Also, are there any proofs for Math 1B because my AP Calc AB class definitely did not do any proofs.

I have no idea if I should take 1A or 1B. I took IB Math 2/SL, whatever you want to call it, junior year. This was some statistics and some Calc AB stuff, but not as much. Then I took AP Calc AB this year. Math has always been my best subject, so I would like to take 1B, but I’m not sure. Any help?

eyeheart: 1b didn’t really have any proofs from what i remember. there is still a lot of memorization and grasping the concepts because it’s all about utilizing the techniques to solve a problem (and there gets to be a crapload as you go on obviously). I’d say series would be comparable to the proofs in 1a, although proofs definitely were more annoying and less understandable to me. haha

Uh what class is after 1A and 1B? Can I skip those two? I took calc BC in high school got an A and a 5 then I took calc C and calc D at a community college, both As.

Any recommendations? I don’t want to repeat classes :P

^The class after Math 1B is Math 53-54 series, but I believe that is Calc C-D, or whatever it is called which is what you said you took

Batman: Thanks. Going to sound really stupid, but what’s series? =/
