i took AP Calc BC in high school and got a 5. then took 1a at Berkeley and math 53's equivalent at a CC.

needless to say, i dont remember anything from HS calc or 53. sooo..do i really need to know math 1b stuff to do OK in E7?

thanks

why you take E7? Did you find a calling in your life :D

haha. i wanna work in some sort of cognitive neuro lab after grad. i figure matlab cant hurt :D

you can probably learn any math you need on your own if necessary. I took E7 and the math wasn’t anything beyond calculus and a few bits of linear algebra.

Jet: linear algebra?!?!!

i def didnt take that either…do you happen to have an electronic copy of the syllabus of the class from when you took it?

It does not state in the syllabus that you need to take linear algebra. But to fully understand the material and be on top of the class, you have to know Math 54 since you’ll be dealing with lots of matrices and ordinary differential equations.

Math 53 has nothing to do with E7.

I strongly advise you against taking E7 not having ever taken Math 1B. A lot of people struggle to get B’s having taken Math 54.
