Math 1b and Math 53 Same semester

Is it possible to take Math 1B and Math 53 in the same semester? I'm pretty sure that I've already studied most of the stuff in 53 in HS, so understanding and keeping up with the course material won't be a problem. I just want to know if it is allowed under the rules of the university. Thanks.

Yes no one will check/kick you out. As long as you think you can do it then go ahead.

I don’t see how you can succeed in 53 if you haven’t completed 1b yet. At first 53 is not so bad because it just deals with vectors, but once it gets into the calculus you are going to be expected no to use integration by parts and trig substitution like second nature. Not to mention polar and spherical coordinates. If you already know this stuff then you should be ok but if you are trying to pick it up as you go along your life will be much harder.

I did that $hit. And, unlike you, I had no prior teachings of the material in 1B or 53 was about. I ended with an A in 1B and a B+ in 53.

Ok. I think I’ll take 53 and 1B .
