I took both Math Ic and IIc on June 4th. I have been told that some schools however only count math (whether Ic or II c or both) as ONE subject test. Can anyone tell me which schools adhere to this practice?

I am interested in this question, too, and it is not an easy answer. I saw a website (might have been Princeton) that stated the SAT IIs must be in different subjects. I am assuming Math I and II would not fly for them.
My S also took both maths. He took Lit for a third one and there really aren't any others he could do OK on. The sciences sound impossible and so do the history tests.

in satisfying their 2 SAT2 requirement.

I'm pretty sure they count as 2. However, I'd highly remend taking another to show that you are a multi-dimensional student. Colleges, while they'll accept these 2, will probably be less inclined to take a student if he or she is on the proverbial fence. Hope this helps.

I too have the same question because my S in interested in Math and took both the Math SAT IIs. I looked at the Princeton web-site and did not see that the 3 tests need to be in different subjects . . . though I believe that I have seen this somewhere also.

Here is what I found on the Princeton site. This does not really clear up the question for me........

SAT II College Board Subject Tests -- in three different subject areas.**

*If all of your other college choices require ACT results and not the SAT I, then you may submit the ACT to Princeton in place of the SAT I. The SAT II tests are still required.

**If you are considering a degree in engineering at Princeton, we strongly prefer that your SAT II tests include either physics or chemistry and either mathematics Level I or Level II.

MomofWildChild,

That is what I saw also. The trouble I have is that my S has now sat for 2 SAT IIs, one last June as a sophomore and one last weekend as a junior. The tests he took were:

June 2004 - Chemistry, Math IC, Writing
June 2005 - Chemistry, Math Level 1, Math Level 2

If a school requires 3 he may need to take it again . . . then again, if he does well on the tests he has taken then he will only need to take one test.
