So what’s a decent enough score to report for top tier colleges? Well maybe not top tier, but 2nd tier. Places like Emory, Georgetown, Tufts, UVA, Wash u…
This is not for engineering or physics. Maybe prospective biology major, though.
Is anything 700 or higher worth reporting? Or do we need to show scores more like 750+?
Not exactly sure, but I think typically it’s 750+ for 2nd tier schools, depending on how far down you go. I wouldn’t say scores between 700 and 750 are not worth reporting, they’re just not as competitive.
750 Math2, 700 E- Bio, 750 M-Bio. Around 75th percentile.
750+ for Bio and Math 2 are fine scores. They would be competitive for Emory/UVA and possibly Georgetown/Tufts. Not as much so for WashU, as high scores are pretty much a given there (son is a junior Bio major there and got 800 on Math 2 and 790 on BioM).
Remember though that subject tests are optional for most schools and you don’t need to report them unless you feel that the scores can bolster a slightly borderline application profile. Unless the school ‘recommends’ them (which means submit them).
