Will using Barron's Math 2 (which I heard is way overpreparing) be more useful in getting an 800 than using PR (which I heard is just right) where you just know what you need to know? Would Barron's be beneficial to use just to be on the safe side?

I liked the way that Barron's is set-up because after you take a test you can reallly easily see which sections you need to work on. However, I found some of the questions were kinda really out there. On the plus side, it did make the Math 2 yesterday look very easy.

"to be on the safe side" is essentially the reason I took Barron's. Although it did equate to a large amount of irritation when I did the practice tests (there's no comparison between the difficulty of PR and that of Barron's), I still found it to be worthwhile.

Barrons was annoyance Xs 100.
Not necessary AT ALL.

Well, I just got both and I'll compare them and see which one I should return. I think the safe side is somewhat good so you're overprepared, but I just don't want to do that at the expense of overanalyzing a problem, which is what usually gets me down on the SAT I.

The other thing to consider is that Barrons makes you study all kinds of concepts that never appear on the test. Also, they don't ask the questions in the same way. You might as well be practicing by taking copies of the Medical College Admissions Test. PR = just right. Barrons = bad practice = bad habits = waste of time.
