Math 2 Question help!

So I was working on a practice test on Sparknotes and I came across this question:
Which of the functions graphed below has a range of (–5, 5)?

Doesn't this mean that the function never reaches -5 and 5, so it has asymptotes at y= -5 and y=5? The answer, however, is a graph with a an endpoint at x=-5 and and a horizontal asymptote at y= 5. Is this an error or am I doing something wrong.

Your logic is sound. Do you have a like to the question so I can double check?

I can’t post the direct link because you have to log onto Sparknotes first in order to view it, but here is another link to the problem.

A is what sparknotes says is correct, but I selected B.

I think there is a mistake in sparknote designations. From their explanations i got that in this question when they wrote (-5,5) they meant[-5,5). Since that, obviously, A is correct, and B is not correct because value -5 is not included in function’s range.

Yeah, they meant [5, 5), not (5, 5).

ok I just wanted to make sure.
