One of my friends told me that the June Math 2 Subject test is typically easier than the May test, and I was wondering if this was true? I was planning on taking the test in Oct/Nov, so I was wondering if certain months tend to have easier tests? Thanks.
There is no set pattern to discerning which months have a ‘harder’ SAT I/II than others. It is completely arbitrary. Your friend may be saying the test is ‘easier’ because the curve could be ‘nicer’; even if the June and May SAT II differ in difficulty (even if they do, it would be by a small amount), the curve from raw score to scaled score (/800) ensures that all SATs are representative and allow colleges to judge students on an as-equal-as-possible basis. In short, the tests are standardized (the S in SAT!), ensuring no student has an ‘easier’ or ‘harder’ time on a test.
In short, don’t take a test on a specific month because you think that month is the ‘easier’ month. You don’t know which test will be the best one for you. All you can do is study and do your work to the best of your ability.
