I understand that you can log or ln both sides and then use the laws to make it mlog6.31=nlog3.02 but then how do you manipulate it to show m/n?</p>

<p>if an indirect proof is assuming the negative of a conclusion then what would a direct proof be. For example, in the blue book there is a question like, if x equals the square root of two is a rational number, what would you assume in an indirect proof. The answer is that you would assume x equals the square root of two isn’t a rational number. </p>
