Math 2 Questions

Barron's has me paranoid...I just got a 690...gah i want an 800.

And will i need to know these topics?
1.s=rtheta for arc length/radius or w.e?
2.Distance between a point and a equation of a line?
3. How to tell the inverse of function graphs?(how do i do this)?
4. Solve for an area enclosed by a graph?
5. How in depth for polars?
6. concentric cirlces?!
7. volume by rotation?
8. major axis of ellipses/ other conic section questions
and what should i be getting for a safe 800 on the actual exam? and are there any topics that barron's fails to cover?

I think you can get a 780 with a 690 in Barrons…

 1. Prolly
 2. Prolly
 3. You can use the horizontal line test to determine if it’s a function, but you can’t write it out unless you have the equation…
 4. Prolly/maybe?
 5. Prolly whatever Barrons tells you.
 6. I have no idea what you mean by this
 7. ???
 8. Most probably yes.

For all your other general formula questions, I would say better be safe than sorry. For strategy questions, the same, but remember, Barrons is 100x tougher. Buy the College Board blue book if you want an actual score.

690 on Barron’s is very likely going to get you an 800.

1.s=rtheta for arc length/radius or w.e?
Good formula to know, usually quicker than taking a ratio w/ the circumference.

2.Distance between a point and a equation of a line?
Doubt it.

How to tell the inverse of function graphs?(how do i do this)?
Reflect over y=x. If you have trouble visualizing that, just try writing a couple coordinates, flip the x&y values, and regraph them.

Solve for an area enclosed by a graph?
No. (100000% No if you are thinking of needing calculus to find them)

How in depth for polars?
I haven’t seen any polar questions before. I’d imagine you better know how to convert between Cartesian and polar coordinates and maybe how to tell what shapes some polar coordinates are. (ex: r = 4sin(theta) is a circle)

concentric cirlces?!
Probably not.

volume by rotation?
Probably not.

major axis of ellipses/ other conic section questions
Probably not. [Besides the stuff I already told you about conics :stuck_out_tongue: ]

Just be ready to work quickly. In May, I finished the first 25 questions in 20 minutes, so I thought I should slow down a bit to make sure I didn’t get tricked by the harder ones at the end. Awful idea. Got to #50 with 6 minutes left and had to go back to 7 questions. It was a very stressful 6 minutes! (I did finish, but barely, and failed to get a 800 - 780) Remember you can miss quite a few and get an 800!

Yeah i’m having a lot of trouble finishing for barrons… and i mean alot i have like 6 questions left after time has passed…

anyone else have some input?

bump10char?

bump10char. anyone else have experience?
