(D) 2
(E) It does not approach a unique value.</p>

<p>The answer is C, but I picked E.
It's approaching the vertical asymptote at x = 1. Aren't limits undefined if a vertical asymptote is being approached?</p>

<p>Actually, I probably should have tested values of x slightly below and above 1 to see if the corresponding y-values were consistent.</p>
