Math 2 vs Math 1, question@@@@@@

Ok I was planning to take the Math 2 tomorrow but I’m kinda having second thoughts, I never really got enough time to study/aren’t doing that great only getting about a 600 each time or so…

I know the Math 2 curve is pretty good, compared to the math 1. However do colleges look at say a 650 math 1 the same as a 650 math 2?

If they look at the math 2 in a more positive light, how much of a difference in the scores would be til it is equal, like say would a 650 math 2 be looked at the same was as a 700 math 1?

I have not studied at all by a math 1 practice book, and I am an average guy who has scored 680 and 650 on the regular sat math. Based on this, and that I will be using a TI-89 calculator what would you guess my score would be for the Math 1, if I am averaging about a 600 on the Math 2?

Also on the math 1 what are the topics, kinds of questions that are on it, or any trick questions I should look out for.

SOrry for a long read and probably the 50th topic on math 2/math1
Thanks for your help, looking for as many opinions as possible.

I would recommend staying with the Math 2 - for one, you have been preparing for it, and two, it has a much better curve than the Math 1. My younger brother took the SAT II Math 1 as a 7th grader (just to see how he would do) and probably answered 2-3 questions wrong - he got a 730. On the other hand, I took the SAT II Math 2, probably answered the same number incorrectly (give or take a few) and received an 800.

Stick with what you are comfortable with - you have the format and concepts down for the Math 2, so stick with it. It is never a good idea anyway, to switch tests right before the exam. It can mess with your test psyche.

anyone else

take both its just 8 extra dollars im taking both!

I had the same problem as you. I scored 710 on SAT I. I scored a 720 on SAT II - Ic Math. I scored a 660 on IIc Math. I decided to to take IIc and I'm just cramming right now by taking a few IIc tests and looking at the sections I'm weak at. Hope my decision helps you make yours ;P

If I had the choice to take both I would but I'm already taking the max of three tests (Bio + Chinese also)
