Hey guys,
I want to take SAT math 2, but I don’t know precalc (I know trig however), would you guys give me the KEY AND ESSENTIAL topics that I would need to study for the SAT math 2 in order too get about a 700-710 ish grade
I would highly advise you not to take it without precalc, but if you decide to anyway, you NEED to know:
-Functions. Know them and know them well. Big time. (Quadratic, Polar. Parametric, Trig, Exponential Logarithmic…etc.)
-Conic Sections (a Precalc topic; things like ellipses, hyperbolas, parabolas)
-Higher-Degree Polynomials and Polynomial Inequalities
-Complex Numbers
-Matrices
-Sequences and Series (also covered in AP Calculus BC)
-Transformations
-Statistics
-Vectors
-Probability
Simply studying the topics won’t earn you a high score; you need to have a solid understanding and foundation in these topics as well.
Its a LOT so I would highly highly recommend taking precalculus; what grade are you in? If you’re a junior then I honestly would think its too late for you to take Pre-Calc next year then take the test because by the time you have learned all the info, applications will be done.
You can opt to take Math I instead. Are you aiming for a Math-related major in college?
