Can we enroll in Math 20A with
1. a SAT II Math Level 2 score of 650 and above(This is stated in the UCSD
2006-07 Catalog)
OR
2. Do we HAVE to give the Math Placement Exam
(stated in: http://mathtesting.ucsd.edu/require.shtml#MATH10A)

We don't have to take the exam.

OK let me reframe my question:
I got a 700 in the SAT II Math level 2 test.
I've done my high shcool abroad so I've basically studied everything uptill Math 20 B.
CAN I GET INTO MATH 20 B THROUGH THE PLACEMENT EXAM?

If you don't have transfer or AP credit, I don't think so. Ask on e-advisor.

OK THANX,last question:

Have you given the math placement exam?
What is the highest level math course you can be placed in through the Math placement exam?

**My advisor is L.O.S.T.

I don't think the exam can place you further than MATH 20A.

Agreed. I think the only way you can go beyond any A class (either 10A or 20A) is to have AP credit, IB credit (which would place you out of both A and B, I believe?), or to have taken an equivalent class at another college.
