So I was looking through a bunch of books that previous math20a students were selling and I noticed that there is a slight problem: they were all selling the old edition of the book. The updated math20a book list says that we need Calculus Early Transcendentals, 2 Edition. This new edition was published in March 30, 2011. Is it safe to say that the books that the students are trying to sell won't suffice for the class?

From what I remember, edition changes are minor and problems, for the most part, remain unchanged. Content like lessons will only be updated.

okay so like yeah for chem 6AH, they used the sixth edition b4 too but now the teacher is using the 7th edition and it’s like 10x more expensive
