So for winter quarter 2010, Stephen Young, Tatiana Shingel, and Laurea Jeene Stevens are teaching. Can someone please give me some advice on which professor to select? Thanks a lot!

I have Professor Shingel for Math 20F. She’s decent, but her tests are pretty difficult. If you think you can be in the top 25% of the class, you should be fine since she curves all the grades at the end. Homework assignments are worth a sizeable portion of your grade as well, so that’s nice too.

Stevens is usually good. Pretty easy but I found the classes to suck. The class overwhelms her (cheers when she does a question on the board) almost to the point where it’s completely unnecessary. Also, she lectures before the quizzes on quiz days so no one cares about the lecture and instead just crams for the quiz. Easy exams result in little to no curve so if you are confident enough not to make mistakes and get the 90%, go for it.
