None of the names mentioned in previous threads came up for what I'm seeing in the class planner. So, who has experience with...

recommendations, tips, warnings, suggestions?

thanks in advance

I'm also curious to know this, since I'm signing up for 20C for the fall. I've looked up Verstraete on Ratemyprofessor, and even though there's no entry for him in UCSD, I think there is one in some Canadian university (and I think he's from Canada?), and it seems like he's a pretty good choice. Evans also seems to be good, from what I saw... :D

i had evans, and i can say that his tests were BEAST -- proofs, "show that"-type questions, etc.

overall, his tests make you think really hard. so hard, in fact, that i'm surprised no one dropped dead from a brain aneurysm during his tests

for your info, averages on his tests were usually around 50. i remember in one case a 67+ was an A. if you're looking for consistency in your math classes, don't go for this guy

bump

any other opinions

ratemyprofessors was not that useful...
