Math 20C requirement?

Alright I apologize in advance for my unfamiliarity with this but I've been recommended to take 20C (and it gave me the option of 20AH, 20BH, 20CH because of my AP score) but I have a question that's pretty naive. Is there no way for me to take a course ahead of 20C (E, D, F) now because I'd actually taken a Calculus D (multivariable calculus) course and a Linear Algebra course in high school. But the thing is I didn't pay for the college credit so I expect that, of course, they won't acknowledge that. But my question is do I have to enroll in 20C or can you enroll in a high class? I assume I'd have to just take 20C because I didn't pay for the college credit. But it kind of makes me wary of already "being behind" because I sort of took the courses in high school and will be taking them again. lol I guess that's a benefit though, if I'm already familiar with the material.

Do most incoming freshman (CSE majors) take 20C for their first math course or do they take E-F first?

there’s always credit by examination … google it if you don’t know about it

too bad UCSD doesn’t take CLEP examinations. Try summer school instead ;)
