math 215 killing me

It's not supposed to. I had credit transferred for 115 and 116. The problem was that i did those nearly 3 years ago. Two classes and already I didn't understand half of what the prof was saying. First set of homework is a dead end too.

Heard of anyone spending time in the library studying (more like struggling) during welcome week? Pretty sad.

Studying for 215 already? isn't it just like vectors and **** right now? hmm, maybe consider dropping.

my point exactly. why am i struggling? i've no idea. i know i'm not supposed to.

Consider retaking 116. If you drop 215 now, you may have the same problem next time around.

thing is, i've been told that revisiting 116 doesn't really help in doing 215. apparently they don't cover much of the same grounds. if i drop 215 now i intend to sit in on 116 lectures then retaking 215 next term.

advisor suggested i just probably need help in reactivating the dormant knowledge in my brain. in which case i shld cram materials in this two days and see if that helps, by next wednesday.

I'm taking 216 and have no idea what the prof is talking about either...I really didn't understand Math 255 either, but I squeaked through with an A-.

This kind of math is just reading the book and learning by repetition. Lecture did nothing for me in 255, and I don't count on it doing much for me in 216. Come to think of it, almost all of the lectures I've attended have been worthless.

I would say it's quite unusual to be having this much trouble this early on. I would recommend visiting office hours to try to get the concepts. It does get significantly more challenging toward the end of the course -- the first week or two is just adjusting to a 3-dimensional mindset.
