Is Titi a good professor for math 2B? Out of the ones teaching it in winter 2010 quarter, who seems to be the best professor?

Unfortunately, I have not heard anything good of any of the 2b professors for winter 2010.

But if I had to choose one, its either squartini or Kim (8am).

Or you can wait until Spring 2010 like me, :D

I had Squartini fall quarter and he’s not that great. He doesn’t put any notes on the website or anything and his lectures are quite dull. I stopped going to class like the 3rd week and just studied on my own. I got 100 on both midterms so I did alright in that class. The midterms were alright, the final was a bit challenging.

But if the other option is 8am then… idk hahaha

No. I had him for 2B fall 2009. He is relentless. He is extremely difficult. In my discussion, the mode was F and the average was C-. His TA’s are impotent too because on both midterms, they added my score incorrectly (first one was 16 points off, and the second was amazingly 20 points off). Had I not discovered their mistakes, I would have failed that class. I managed a B+ in the class, and an A on the final.

BTW, he was an hour and a half late to his OWN final. Unacceptable.

Do not take Titi. Just had him for fall quarter. Like what sempterfudge said…average was a C-.

all the 2b professors have VERY negative reviews/ low ratings for the winter quarter.

if you want an easier 2b, wait for famiglietti or lehman to teach it in the spring, which i’m doing.

Thanks for the responses.

I had Famiglietti this quarter for 2A and thought she was excellent. Its unfortunate that she is not teaching 2B in winter.

hey class, i had Famigl as well for 2A this quarter. I thought she is pretty good, except with this new chair and math committee, she isn’t as ‘easy’ as she used to be.

The TA for this class was horrible.

I hope there is a curve on the final…

What are you talking about junshik? The TA for Familiglietti was good, the problem with our class was that we had people that weren’t that bright…I passed both midterms with As and the final was easy…

But anyways, with any required class, there will be teachers you do not want to take but HAVE to. So, if there are no good classes available Spring, you should just try working with what you are given.

Well since it’s my first math TA, I don’t know how she ranks in the broad spectrum of math TA’s, so maybe she IS considered ‘good’ for others, but sure.

Final was hard for me, so it’s all relative.

I agree with you, junshik. I thought the final was hard as well and believe that the TA was mediocre at best.
