for those of u who got 750+ on the math 2c test, what review books do u think were the best to prepare for the test?

currently i'm doing everything in the kaplan review book and i'm going to start the practice tests in the back, but do u think this book is helpful for the actual math 2c test?

i also have the mcgrawhill book too.......is mcgrawhill helpful?

Simply put, people say anything Kaplan’s is garbage. I have McGraw Hill and it gave me the perfect estimation of what my score would be. Not only that, but it almost perfectly represents the real test. It has a lot of examples that might help you understand the material. However, it looks as though Barron’s is god and I’ve actually found that to be true also. Barron’s has a lot of practice problems and very hard practice tests that prepare you VERY well for the test. Hope that helps.

I took the Math2 Subject Test on June 6, right after finishing my Pre-Cal class. It helped that I took the test a week after school ended while everything was fresh in my mind.

Using ‘Kaplan’s Math 2 Study Guide’, I read and did everything in the review sections. I also underlined important things or things I didn’t know as well, and tagged each page that I felt was important for a last-minute review. I wanted to be able to retake the 4 practice tests, so I made copies of the answer sheet and didn’t write on the test section. Well, that sort of worked but after reviewing all 4 tests the first time and then retaking all 4, I realized I remembered how to do many problems. That obviously increased my score the second time I took each test, so it is not an entirely accurate method. But it also showed what I really needed to study if I missed the same problem twice. I would only recommend doing this if you are entirely sure you will not cheat, otherwise it’s useless.

I also bought the “Official SAT Subject Math 1 & 2 Study Guides” just for the practice tests after I finished the Kaplan book. Otherwise, I would not recommend it for studying because it had little information compared to Kaplan.

Basically, keep practicing!!! Stay focused while reading the review material. I even studied the back pages of Kaplan on the drive over to the test site.

*If you take good notes, stay focused, and understand the material to a good extent, yes I thought the Kaplan study guide was fine. I haven’t taken any other SAT test or used any other company’s guides before, so I cannot compare.
