I had an AP calc credit for Math 31A on my DPR. What will happen if I want to take Math 31A in UCLA? Will the unit count as my graduation units? Will the grades count as my GPA?

You have to take 31b. The units are already counted for you, it will not be part of your GPA.

source: I asked the counselor about taking English comp 3…got a 5 on English Lang. no dice.

are you saying I will be forced to take 31B since I had 31A AP credit?

can I take math 3A with math 31 A AP credit? ( I did get 5 but I don’t remember anything about calculus!)

I had a communit college credit for english comp 3 (but UCLA has not received the transcript yet), can I take eng comp 3 at UCLA?

I just read this line from math dept.
Once you have credit for 31A/31B through AP credit, transfer credit, or by taking the course(s) at UCLA, you will not receive unit credit for 3A/3B.

So I guess the best way is to audit 31A or 3A?

I was in your same position 2 years ago. I got a 5 on Calc BC junior year but did not touch math for my senior year in high school.

I decided to take math 31b (which I already recieved credit for) and did well in the class UNTIL the final. Screwed up and got a C+.

Not worth to waste time. If you got a 5, you will relearn 31A extremely fast.

just spend a week rewatching some of this
[MIT OpenCourseWare | Mathematics | 18.01 Single Variable Calculus, Fall 2006 | Video Lectures](http://ocw.mit.edu/courses/mathematics/18-01-single-variable-calculus-fall-2006/video-lectures/)

1 week studying > 10 weeks of class + finals

So, was that C+ in math 31B counted as your GPA?
Yes, I took calc in my junior year in high school, I don’t remember anything. :-[
Thanks for the link.
