Math 3b or 3c??? HELP

So I passed the Ap calc b/c exam with a 3 my senior year. 3 is pretty iffy and im not sure if im confident enough to not take math 3b. Passing the b/c exam gave me credits for math 3a and math 3b so i can go straight to math 3c.

Any advice on what i should do? I plan on change my major into engineering so math will be important for me.

So Math 3B or 3C??????

whats was your sub-score?

They actually give you an option to take 3B or 3C?? I got a 4 on my AP Calc BC test and wasn’t given a choice, I was “required” to enroll in Math 3C. Personally I would have liked to take 3B because I had a terrible AP Calc teacher and need to brush up on my integration skills :stuck_out_tongue: . Deciding whether to take 3B or 3C depends on you strengths/weaknesses in Calc. If you feel that you have mastered (or close to it) integration and other BC topics, then you should sign up for 3C. If you still need work on these areas, then take 3B.

FYI: Math 3C starts off with Differential equations which require decent integration skills. Also the mastery of fundamental Calculus is needed to pursue degrees in physical sciences, especially engineers, so MAKE SURE YOU KNOW YOUR MATHS! xD

Just take 3B. The best advice I can give you for any math course at UCSB is not to put off your work to the last minute. Don’t think you have a confident grasp on the material only to be surprised on the test. This has happened to me many times. The difference is that your grades depend almost entirely on these tests, so it’s unbelievably painful to be stumped during one.

Do not sacrifice your GPA to skip to the next class, especially if you’re feeling shaky.

Just take 3c.
if you feel you need brushing up, just do some independent study. (theres online PDFs of books and txtbooks on craigslist.). 3c material is very different from 3A/B.

OR, if you’re down…crash a couple 3B lectures/exams. it’s good test practice and FuN.
don’t waste your time/money learning the fundamental theorem of calculus when you already know it. same goes for GPA, what if you don’t ace 3B because you get a ****ty professor/TA or you just have a brain fart during the final?

not to mention this holy grail. must have for any college math course:
