I have only had calculus and i have never done proofs, is 51 proof-intensive? In that case should i just take cme 100 if i need to fulfill my pre-med requirement?

...dear goodness grief, do not take CME100 if you're only looking to fulfill pre-med requirements without becoming an engineer. Take something easier. To answer your question, Math 51 is not proof-intensive at all. That would be Math 51H.

i thought cme 100 covers the same topics as 51? 51H is the proof based class

Um, much harder, and much faster. Stuff on Math 51's final was on CME100's midterm. It's a much more advanced class.

i think it's a pretty big misconception that CME is harder. The CME series covers material in a different order. CME 100 doesn't have linear algebra at all. The class seemed pretty easy to me..the MATLAB questions were pretty basic if you've had even minimal experience with programming and the problem sets don't take more than 3-5 hours a week. The examples were a lot more practical and there were no proofs at all. If you have any trouble at all, the TAs office hours were very helpful.
