Is it reasonable to take both math53 and math54 in the summer? Or is it suicide?

I don’t see the point to doing it – is there a reason you want to? The only acceptable reason in my eyes is that they’re requirements that you don’t care about very much and want to finish off.

If you do it, I doubt you would learn either of them very well, because you’d spend more energy completing the assignments than actually thinking about the material.

Honestly, Math 54 is a useless class to take if you don’t think about what’s going on a little. You can compute a million things about matrices, and it’s going to be useless to you in the future if you don’t realize what’s going on, and you’ll spend double the time making up for it.

If these are just requirements you want to finish off and not have on your plate during the year, go ahead and do it, as long as you don’t care about learning them very well.
