Math 53 Questions

<p>Hey Everyone!</p>

<p>I am an incoming freshman. I have done some research on Math 53. It seems that Professor Givental has pretty bad rating in regards to curve, clarity, and exams. I just really want to know more about Math 53 before I sign up for it at CalSO. I am good at Math as long as I read the textbooks beforehand and do all my homework. I tend to read the chapters before my teachers' lectures so I can have a better view of the subject. So I don't really know if I can survive in Givental's class. Could some awesome people provide more insights to Givental?</p>

<p>I took it a year or so ago with Neu and I heard Givental’s class got raped that year in comparison. That being said, it really all is a matter of how comfortable you are with math - you’ll have to read and learn all on your own - and how much help you go and look for (finding a better GSI, etc. You can sit in on any GSI’s section and go to anyone’s office hours). The class material itself is not terribly difficult if you have a mastery of the stuff in 1B (so like calc BC). Auroux is awesome though (or so I hear).</p>
